When ITV was set up over 50 years ago, they claimed they had a license to print money as the first network of commercial television companies. Television advertising was revolutionary for both the consumer and advertiser, and brought in huge budgets for programme makers.
Now, not only are ITV channel’s just some of many channels in the era of television choice, but the whole notion of television as we know it is challenge as social model is challenging the way we watch and interact with programmes.
ITV1 may be the third channel is any listings but can it survival is the future? As we see their budgets twisted and the quality of their programming reduced, is the ITV terminal ill? Slowly dying as every empire eventually does?
NB: My apologises for the gap in ‘transmission’ over the last few days, I have been suffering from a head cold and some technical issues
