Do disabled people know about tax credits?

NewImage

When disabled people go on about not being able to afford to work, I wonder if they are aware of tax credits, which is a top up ‘benefit’ for people on low incomes including disabled people like myself. I have had tax credits after 15 years and i think they are one of those secrets which few people are aware of but could benefit a lot of people. I believe working is always better than not working, for someone’s mental wellbeing if anything else, and there is far more support for disabled people who ‘wish’, and maybe should, work than the disability charities and anti-cuts activists wish people to know about.

So if you are disabled and thinking its time you actually got a job, why not have a lot at tax credits?
