Dignity and ambition

NewImage

I believe the two important qualities myself and many other ‘active’ disabled people have is dignity and ambition. These qualities are what have enabled us to stand out from the crowd and make a difference. I do not see myself as better or worst than anyone else and I have always expected to be treated as an equal as I have treated others as equals. The fact I am disabled, a service user, receive benefits and whatever does not mean I have ever accepted being treated as inferior as I expected and demand fair treatment from everyone.

I also always seen life as a journey rather than anything static and I always believed in things getting better as my ambition and determination has pushed me forward again and again. Without dignity, ambition and indeed determination, I would not be where I am today.
