I believe a true measure of individual success should be measured in terms of happiness in the way that individual defines and that we should be able to be happy in our own ways. Many disabled people are unhappy about their situation because they have not fully come to terms with who they are and what their unique story and journey is. It is often so easy to wallow in self pity when with a slight shift of thinking, happiness is highly achievement.
We decide if the glass is half full and half empty, and however much people may protest, they are in control of whether they are positive about their situation, however difficult it may be. There is a point where people has received enough support from others and it is then down to them to make the effort to achieve happiness or to simply blame others for the misfortunes they continue to focus upon.
